Smoke Ventilation
ADS installed a smoke ventilation system to the main production building at Wellstream’s Newcastle facility in 1997.
In 2008 the factory was to be extended to accommodate a new materials store, office space and a canteen area. We provided a smoke / natural ventilation system comprising of two separate zones: The first zone provides smoke ventilation to the new warehouse area by using roof mounted louvred ventilators, replacement air is provided by low level louvres and dampers. The system is controlled by the fire alarm interlink in our control panel. The second zone is the new office extension and canteen area.
There is a central atrium with Stirling Flap Ventilators at high level and chain actuators on the low level windows provide the replacement air. The system provides natural ventilation by controls on the control panel / rain sensor and provides smoke ventilation by a fire alarm interlink at our control panel.
