Smoke Ventilation

ADS designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the smoke ventilation systems at IKEA's new store in Sheffield.

Following ADS Ltd's successful installations for IKEA in Reading, Dublin, Edinburgh MPU and Doncaster Distribution Centre (to name a few!), ADS were successful in our tender for the Sheffield store.

We supplied numerous roof mounted smoke ventilators to naturally ventilate the warehouse, entrance areas, food hall and the showrooms. These naturally ventilated areas were controlled by ADS multi-zone control panels and were divided by large fixed smoke curtains. 

We provided a mechanical extract system to the market hall area which comprised of smoke rated extract fans discharging through facade louvred ventilators with inlet air being provided through low level inlets. Again, ADS provided a control system to automatically operate these fans and clear smoke from this area. 

Beneath the store area is a huge car parking area. ADS provided a fume ventilation system including 3 phase controls to push fume from vehicles to the open facades and maintain safe levels of CO.
