Smoke Ventilation

B&Q constructed one of their new Eco Stores at Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Mertyr Tydfil.

The impressive store benefits from an ADS 'natural' smoke control system including 8 No. Sky Vent double flap ventilators and a fully commissioned control system. The system was split into 2 No. smoke zones using a fixed smoke curtain with fire board between the steelwork and the control system also allows for day to day natural ventilation through local switches, rain & wind sensors. The Double Flap 'Skyvent' enables the roofing profile to be incorporated into the design, so that the vents look integrated into the roof for aesthetic purposes along with maintaining the thermal properties of the roofing system. 

ADS subsequently were awarded the smoke ventilation system at Edge Lane in Liverpool which was the same design but on a larger scale. 18 No. ventilators were used at Liverpool with the same specification of vents and controls.
