Smoke Ventilation

ADS worked alongside our longstanding client - RG Group to provide the mechanical smoke ventilation system at Symons House in Leeds city centre. 

Our system ventilated the lobby areas to keep the stair-core clear of smoke. We completed a CFD Analysis to back-up the design of the system. Our system comprised of inlet air from the facade windows fitted with SE Controls chain actuators. We then extracted via a 'builders-work' smoke shaft fitted with EN.12101-8 tested and CE certified smoke control dampers using our Kamouflage dampers. At the top of the smoke shaft we provided our EN.12101-3 tested smoke extract fans with all tested accessories. We also provided a smoke ventilator at the head of the stair-core to ventilate the head of the stairs should any smoke enter the stair-core. 

The final piece of the jigsaw was a fully commissioned control system. We provided our three phase and 24v control panels, all electrical wiring and local controllers. The system is automated by fire alarm interfaces on each floor and also communicates with the BMS system.
