Smoke Ventilation
ADS designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a complex smoke ventilation system to the fantastic Beacon of Light project in Sunderland.
The Beacon is the new home of the 'Foundation of Light', Sunderland AFC's registered charity. Set up in 2001 by previous SAFC chairman Sir Bob Murray CBE, the Foundation pioneers ground-breaking sports, health, community and education programmes.
Our smoke ventilation system includes a mechanical smoke shaft that serves both the firefighting lobby and the main atrium area. We have fire rated ductwork connections from the impressive material roof and polycarbonate facade to the main staircore area. on the top of the structure we have installed our Stirling 'flap' smoke ventilator and we have fire rated smoke extract fans, internal smoke dampers and a fully commissioned smoke control system.
ADS also provided the architectural louvres to the plant areas on the hidden brickwork facade.
ADS have supported the Foundation of Light for many years now, and we are proud to have been involved in such an amazing project.
