Solar Shading
ADS completed the complex Brise Soleil system for the new hotel at Newcastle International Airport. ADS designed, supplied and installed the system over numerous weeks to meet the demanding programme.
The system comprised of a first fix of brackets back to concrete, steelwork and curtain walling. Once the cladding, masonry, render and curtain wall was complete; ADS completed the 2nd fix that comprised of large arms that fixed back to the brackets to allow cassettes of Brise Soleil to fix between. These cassettes comprised of 150mm aerofoil blades, laser cut aluminium end plates and a tube fascia profile for aesthetics.
One of the most challenging parts of this installation was the assembly of the facetted cassettes and the complex mitres into the projecting steelwork corners.
