Project Update - September 2025
ADS has been busy delivering smoke ventilation installations at sites across the UK. Here's a snapshot of some of our recent prison-related projects.
We’re proud to have supported the Ministry of Justice with the delivery of its latest prison construction schemes. Our team has been extensively involved in supplying and installing smoke ventilation systems for the new T60 Houseblocks and Small Secure Houseblocks across the country.

These new blocks are being added to the national prison estate to increase inmate capacity while improving building design, efficiency, and functionality. Thanks to their standardised design, ADS has gained in-depth knowledge of the smoke ventilation requirements, enabling us to deliver optimised solutions for each site.
We’ve used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis to model system performance under fire conditions, ensuring full compliance with MOJ Specification 50. Our systems have been successfully demonstrated and handed over to end users, including a full live smoke test to confirm proper functionality.

In addition to new build projects, ADS also has substantial experience working on refurbishments of existing prison blocks. These projects are bespoke by nature, with unique challenges. We collaborate closely with design teams to evaluate existing systems, assess building layout constraints, and develop tailored smoke ventilation solutions to enhance safety and compliance.
